MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR!
HI, I'MĀ SHELDON
One of my earliest memories is drumming on pots and pans on the kitchen floor, and now I'm aĀ professionalĀ drummer and educator dedicated to making learning music FUN!Ā Ā
MY STORY
I started playing drums young and was performing with bands by age twelve. I played in six bands through the School of Rock at SRTSS and attended a summer program at Berklee in Boston at sixteen. After high school, I studied at the VCC School of Music and went on to tour across Canada and record multiple albums with the funk rock band Raincity. I’ve shared the stage with acts like Five Alarm Funk, Bif Naked, and Too Many Zooz.
WHY DO I TEACH?
I teach music because playing music changed my life. It brings me joy, perspective, and a deeper connection to the world and the people around me. Teaching has taught me patience and how powerful music can be as a shared language.
Teaching is my passion. It is about meeting students where they are and helping them grow at their own pace. I focus on encouragement, confidence, and helping students learn how to teach themselves. The goal is not perfection. It is progress and connection.
MYĀ MISSION
Be unapologetically you.
There is only one you, and art is a great way to uncover and express who you really want to be deep down.
I believe my paintings not only make the world a better place, but they also shape the people who experience them in beautiful ways. I love that I am able to take it a step further and help other artists find satisfaction in creating their own masterpieces.
